The incident happened around 7:40pm on Sunday when the final runner making his way around Senba Park adjourning to the finish line.

Kayoko Takahashi, 53, an unemployed woman, later got herself arrested by the officials for forcible obstruction of business.

However, the water did not affect the flame and cause any injury.

She later admitted to the offence and said she was doing it in protest of the Olympics in Tokyo.
