The Malaysian government has decided to mobilize the army this Sunday (March 22nd) to assist the police with the enforcement of the movement control order, The Star reports.
This was announced in a press conference on Friday (March 20th) by the Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier today.
“We believe with the army’s assistance, the movement control would be better enforced,”
The army will be assisting the police to ensure that people stayed in their homes to ensure health safety within the country.
A large number of people, especially people from the outskirts are still not complying to the movement control order that started from March 18th.
He added that many were still playing games outdoors, going to playgrounds, and hanging out at food outlets.
