South Korea is set to build the world’s first floating city off the coast of Busan by 2025 as a way to survive rising sea levels.
The planned city is backed by the United Nations, that is built on top of a flood-proof infrastructure that rises with the sea level.

The new development also aims to be a self-sufficient city where its energy source will be solar-generated, all while producing its own food and fresh water.
Busan Metropolitan City is partnering with New York designers Oceanix for this $200 million project and construction will be commencing very soon.
No dates of the development have been announced as of yet.
