A team of Russian scientists have revived a 24,000 year-old worm-like creature that had been frozen in the Siberian permafrost.
The creature is a multi-cellular organism and is called a “rotifer” — organisms that have specialized organ systems and a complete digestive tract that includes both a mouth and anus.

The rotifer was capable of eating when fed, and surprisingly also able to reproduce without a partner, according to the scientists.
The fact that a multi cellular organism (including humans) can be frozen and stored for thousands of years has been very fascinating to scientists, who are constantly researching the possibility of preserving live bodies for long periods of time.
