An RM20 million in free rent will be granted by Sunway Malls to its non-essential trade retailers for the 14-days period of the movement control order (MCO).
This move is aimed at reducing the cashflow strain many of these companies are facing during this challenging period.
Non-essential trade retailers are shops mandated to cease operations during the movement control order such as fashion, home furnishing, entertainment, leisure outlets and more.

Retailers who stand to benefit from the rent-free scheme include tenants at Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Velocity, Sunway Carnival, Sunway Putra, Sunway Big Box Retail Park, Sunway Giza, and Sunway Citrine.
The mall will also undertake steps to ease credit control for retailers during this challenging period.
“This grant is expected to bring a certain degree of comfort and relief to Sunway Malls’ affected retailers”, mentioned CEO of Sunway Malls HC Chan.
