Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, has submitted his resignation as the country’s Prime Minister, along with his cabinet.
The 74 years-old Prime Minister was in power for a brief period of only 17 months.

The resignation comes as Malaysia experiences the country’s worst COVID-19 outbreak, coupled with Muhyiddin losing support from his fellow party members.
As a new candidate for the Prime Minister position has yet to be decided, Muhyiddin will remain as the country’s interim Prime Minister until a new candidate is appointed.
