In a media announcement made earlier today, Malaysian Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, announced that the movement control order (MCO) will be extended for another 2 weeks, until the 12th of May.
He also stated that it is still uncertain to when the MCO will finally be lifted as the country “still has not won” in this fight to fully eradicate the virus.
Although the extension, some restrictions will be minimally reduced, which include allowing students and individuals trapped outside in other states to travel back to their respective locations.
As for matters revolving around the economy, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced that efforts are on the way to reignite the Malaysian economy in stages, as the movement control order is gradually lifted.
