6075 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Malaysia on 19th May 2021, hitting a record high.
The country is now experiencing the 3rd wave of the Covid-19 pandemic since the first case was reported on 4th February 2020.

Of all the states, Selangor has the highest number of infected, with 2251 cases reported, followed by Johor, and third Kuala Lumpur (the Capital of Malaysia).
First wave recorded an average of 200 daily cases, the second wave hit around October 2020 with a record high of 5728 daily cases.
The third wave started around April 2021, sending the number to 6075.

Netizens believe that the country could face a tighter lock-down if the number of cases continue rising.
Malaysians are currently advised to stay home and follow SOP procedures strictly as the number of vaccinations catches up.
