
Malaysian citizens can apply for a renewal of their Malaysian International Passport (PMA) online starting March 22, according to Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, director-general of Immigration.
Recognising the challenges Malaysians in Australia face in renewing their passports due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the country’s authorities’ control order, he stated that renewal applications can be submitted through the Online Passport System at https://imigresenonline.imi.gov.my/eservices/myPasport.
A special team of Immigration Department employees from Putrajaya will be dispatched to Melbourne, Australia, to speed the processing of passports, and that operating hours would be extended through a shift system.” said Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud
It is reported that students and workers, would receive a two-year automatic renewal, allowing them to renew their visa in Australia in any crucial circumstances.
To avoid any difficulties happening during the renewal period, Malaysians citizen are reminded not to wait to the last minute in renewing their passports.
