According to a statement by a government advisory council on 11th November, Malaysia is expected to reopen its borders to international visitors latest by 1st January 2022.

“Taking into account the good vaccination level of the country, today the NRC has decided that the country’s borders should be opened to international visitors by Jan 1, 2022”

National Recovery Council Chairman, Muhyiddin Yassin

According to government statistics, Malaysia currently has a vaccinated population of over 75%, with a total population of 32 million people.

Since the country began its nationwide vaccination program, infection rates have slowed down rapidly with life gradually returning to normalcy.
