According to a statement by a government advisory council on 11th November, Malaysia is expected to reopen its borders to international visitors latest by 1st January 2022.
“Taking into account the good vaccination level of the country, today the NRC has decided that the country’s borders should be opened to international visitors by Jan 1, 2022”

According to government statistics, Malaysia currently has a vaccinated population of over 75%, with a total population of 32 million people.
Since the country began its nationwide vaccination program, infection rates have slowed down rapidly with life gradually returning to normalcy.

At present, booster-shots are now being administered to a small segment of the population, as the nationwide program continues to inoculate the remaining 25%.
While plans to reopen country’s borders are currently being detailed, no firm date has been announced as of yet, other than the deadline being 1st January 2022.
