Malaysian Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, broke the silence today, stating that medical cannabis can now be imported and used in Malaysia.
He further added that the products being imported need to be registered with the Drug Control Authority (DCA), and prescribed in accordance with the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulation 1984.
Importing medical cannabis can only be carried out by importers who have the allowed license and import permits.
Khairy Jamaluddin also mentioned that the government should not avoid facing this topic, and instead should be guided by studies based on data and science.
