A Malaysian company, ImmuSAFE has launched the world’s first lab-based multi-domain COVID-19 serology test kit with 9 functionally validated domains of the N and S protein of SARS-CoV-2.
It is developed by local company Sengenics Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) using Sengenics’ KREX protein folding technology.
The ImmuSAFE test has a sensitivity and specificity of 100%. Validated by the Institute of Medical Research, an agency under the Ministry of Health, tests conducted on 5,000 samples shows that results can be obtained within a 24 hours period.
Dato’ Madani Sahari, MARii CEO presented the test kit at MARii’s headquarters, Cyberjaya. MARii has also developed the ImmuSAFE Tracker, an application that has intelligent contact tracing capabilities based on MARii’s readily available big data analytics and artificial intelligence platforms.

The CEO of Sengencis, Dr Arif, said the test kit was developed within a few months with a cost of about US$5mil.
