Canto-pop singer, Sam Hui hosted a livestream yesterday from Harbour City without a live audience had gained 2.5 million online viewers watching throughout the one-hour performance via TV channels and social channels.

Hui will donate HK$250,000 to workers of sound production firm Tom Lee Engineering who had lost their jobs due to the current health situation. The livestream was available for free to watch.

Sam Hui is known as the “Father of Canto-pop”, who gained popularity in the 1970s and retired from the entertainment industry in the early 1990s. However, he has regularly appeared on the screen & stage to delight his fans.

Sam also told people from Hong Kong to stay united and positive during the free livestream performance.
