A powerful undersea earthquake of magnitude 7.3 has struck the coast of Indonesia’s Flores Island.
The earthquake was triggered at 0320 GMT, and authorities have issued a tsunami warning which was called off 2 hours later.

According to the authorities, the earthquake caused people fleeing away from buildings that shook from the impact, but only minor damage was caused with one person injured.
Anton Hayon, the chief of Flores Timur district said that residents have participated in a tsunami drill prior to this and are fully aware of the safety precautions they needed to take.
