Earth Day: Meta Launching New Environmental Initiatives, Raising Awareness on Climate Change 31

The Meta group, formerly Facebook, is offering a new option for its Reels format on the occasion of Earth Day.

This week, more than 30 countries will get access to this feature. Lil Dicky (Dave Burd), Maggie Baird, and Zyahna Bryant are just a few of the content makers who have already used it to promote climate change awareness and sustainability.

In addition to the launch, Instagram has collaborated with illustrator Ping Zhu to release new Instagram stories stickers.

Messenger users will also be able to find a new range of 3D Avatar stickers as well as new effects to boost climate change awareness.

Aran Quinn, a renowned digital artist, produced these visually engaging elements. According to him, the ultimate goal was to encourage nature in our everyday lives by employing images of various plants and animals that evoke organic feelings.

Meta has also decided to participate in the occasion through its Messenger Kids app, where users can find some interesting frames with Earth Day themes, as well as charming stickers and AR masks that encourage kids to interact and engage more.

Given the increasing severity of climate change warnings published each year, Meta believes it is all the more important to raise awareness whenever possible. This is especially important with the younger generation so that proper measures can be made.
