The first China-Laos Railway has officially began operations effective 3rd December 2021, connecting the Chinese city of Kunming and Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
The train running from the Lao section features red, blue and white colors, resembling the Laos national flag.
The trains operate at a speed of 160 km/h.
The 1,035-kilometer-long electrified railway link features Huawei’s Smart Railway Solution, a technology suite that boosts safety and security across all phases — from construction stage to the operational phase.
Huawei has worked closely with Laotian telecom operators to build a high-speed network along the high-speed line, capable of providing stable connection to passengers as well as rural residents along the track.
