5 golden cat paw-shaped ornaments were recently unearthed at an ancient tomb in Shanxi, China
The site is located in Beibai-e village in Yuanqu and dated back some 2700 years.

The discovery quickly stole the hearts of Chinese netizens due to their adorable appearances.
The ornaments were found at the waist of the male tomb owner’s body, which archaeologists believe could have been decorations.
However, there have been no clear cultural relics to show as evidence to whether people at that time had raised pet cats.
