Volkswagen is close to a decision on selling its supercar brand Bugatti to Rimac Automobili.
Bugatti is a brand under the ownership of VW group, most notably in producing the world’s fastest cars — the Bugatti Veyron and Bugatti Chiron.

Rimac is a Croatian electric hypercar maker, founded by Mate Rimac in 2009.
The carmaker develops its own electric hypercars and supercar platform supplies to carmakers like Pininfarina.

“At the moment there are intense deliberations on how Bugatti can be developed in the best possible way. Rimac could play a role here because the brands are a good technological fit,” Porsche CEO said
Porsche (also owned by VW) CEO, Oliver Blume, mentioned that Rimac and Bugatti are a good technological fit.
Both parties have been in talks for the best possible deal, mentioned Oliver.
The possible outcome of the deal could allow Porsche to raise the current 15.5% stake it owns in Rimac.
