Tony Fernandes, the CEO and founder of Air Asia Group, is confident that business will recover in 3 months after borders reopen.
He made the statement during a press conference, but also adding that the “date of reopening is out of his control”.

He mentioned that the market demand for budget airline remains positive, according to the data collected from trips to Langkawi.
He also added that the company aims to re-hire the 2000 staff who were retrenched during the pandemic, depending on the market conditions.
