Six well-known Malaysian musicians will perform a 75-minute presentation named SPB, A Tribute at the Shantanand Auditorium in Temple of Fine Arts, Brickfields here on Friday (March 25), in memory of the SP Balasubrahmanyam’s melodies, according to Krithika Iyer, the founder of Aakaar Foundation, a local production firm.
The late Indian playback singer’s legacy continues to captivate millions of music fans throughout the world, particularly in Malaysia, where he has a large fan following.
His amazing and deep musical voice, which crosses boundaries and languages and captivates legions of admirers all around the world, is popularly known as SP Bala.
“This evening of respect to the great singer was the least we could do for someone who had, throughout the years, supplied the inspiration for romance, consolation during heartbreaks, and wisdom via his endless songs,” Krithika Iyer told Bernama.
SP Bala died on September 25, 2020, in Chennai’s capital city, after a protracted fight with health issues caused by a Covid-19 infection.
SP Bala, who was born in 1946, began singing at an early age and went on to record over 40,000 songs in 16 languages, including all South Indian languages and Hindi.
