Malaysia’s Ministry of Health has reported 190 new covid-19 cases in the country, most of them linked to a religious event at a mosque that was attended by over 10,000 people.
This figure represents the biggest single-day jump of cases identified in Malaysia to date.

“Based on initial investigations, the majority of these new cases are linked to the cluster involving the ‘ijtimak tabligh’ gathering at the Jamek Sri Petaling Mosque”, mentioned health director-general, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The health ministry of Malaysia has also announced that 7 earlier cases have recovered, with the patients being discharged from Sungai Buloh hospital today.
This brings the total number of recovered cases to 42 in the country.
